Just a reminder the deadline for entry of your first WIPS for the Mudbox Challenge is May 15th! You can do the contest in any mudding software like Zbrush or Mudbox using a base model from XSI or Maya. You can even use Photoshop to make your displacement maps.

Filming Motion Capture

During a recent motion capture session Measurand invited a group of Film Arts students to take part by providing the lighting and cameras to film the session. As part of their program the students at CATAC must work with industry to gain experience in their field. These students set up the lighting and filmed the session. They will then edit the film to make a short collage of motion capture, animation, and live footage.

This year the 2nd Annual Canadian Awards for the electronic and animated arts will be hosted in the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts; The Centre for Arts and Technology mission is to submit of at least 4 short student film this year. We will try to redo the last year's success of our instructor Jeff Chiba Stearns when he took home the 2006 Best Animated Short Subject.
